ECMA's & SPRING

To the left you see the Trailer Park Boys as they hosted the ECMA's last night many giggles there and many bleeps. To get to see Bubbles sing "Liquor & Whores"was fantastic. very popular tune at the deckstravaganza last year. I was at guitar lessons while the show was on and we watched what was worth watching. All in all a good show but I'm sure it's not as crazy as when I went to the shows in the early and mid 90s. Those weekends were all about go go go. Sleep when you're dead type of thing. Well 21 days from today it's spring. Does that mean 5 more storms or is spring really here?

Tick tock tick tock

Been a while since a post so hi there. I'm still off. I've been looking online, offline here there and everywhere. For those of you watching out for me to crack it'll be a while yet. I am however cooking up a storm and bringing the house to order. If you could see the poor excuse for a closet organizer I built you'd laugh your ass off. Anyway, I'm seeing progress. When I can grocery shop three times a week it's not good. I made some wicked ribs Saturday night. Em and I are spending lots of time together and the cars are going around in circles again on the weekends. This week brings a Motley Crue concert. Should be an interesting group there huh? I'd love to show some pics from the Daytona 500 party at the cuban's but I won't! Anyway bring on spring.

New Beginnings

Cold out huh? I had a few sociables with a friend from ex-work last night. Stories and laughs. Can you imagine if you couldn't talk to anyone? Cripes I'd be gone quick. Today was spent doing the Saturday runaround. High hopes for some racing were singing in the rain in Daytona. Watched Elizabethtown tonight. Good flick. Great ending. I love Cameron Crowe's stuff. I've lived vicariously thru a few of his flicks. Get this one it's great! As always with my reviews all sales are final no complaints accepted... Snowy Sunday with big decisions like put on another pot of coffee or throw more beer in the fridge. Who we kidding? Big breakfast kickoff! One week will the 500.

Can you believe we now have a fiddling Premier of NS? He was pick from the start I like the guy. He's my age which is half of what the last guy was.

And now a few word from a poet by the name of Petty

Had to fight some higher ground
Had some feel to deal around
You can't say what you don't know
Hit around and work no more
Last time though I hit my tracks
So why I could not get back
Yeah my way was hard to find
Can't sell your soul for peace of mind

Square one, my slate is clear
Rest your head and meet my dear
It took a world of trouble, it took a world of tears
It took a long time to get back here

Try so hard to stand along
Struggle to see pass my nose
Always had more dogs and bones
I could never wear those clothes
It's a dark victory
You won and you're so lost
Told her you were satisfied
But you never came across

Square one, my slate is clear
Rest your head and meet my dear
It took a world of trouble, it took a world of tears
It took a long time to get back here

Well that was that...

So last Thursday I got smoked. Point of clarification for those not up on my lingo. I was relieved of my duties. Seems I was not a perfect fit. After 19 months, 31 states, 85,000 airmiles too many nights away and about 8.5 million dollars in business it was time to go. It wasn't the same as when I first started there. Things had changed. Bring on the package...

Anyway no regrets, great experience for the resume, lots of things seens and done. Speaking of the resume do you know anybody looking for someone to talk to people?

Now it's time to make things up with those who got shut out a bit over the past 19 months. The little people are actually happier with me as a deadbeat stay at home Dad. I wish it paid what I was getting elsewhere. Taking care of the kids, the house and laundry should pay like 100K with benefits right? Oh well something wicked good should this way come. Also on the bright side the cars start going around in circles again tomorrow night. And next week it's the 500!

No fish were harmed making this picture

I love getting to the woods. Whether it be to go 4 wheeling, fishing whatever I just like to disappear now and again. Jan 27-29th marked the MacCormick SmeltFest a glorious event inspired a few years back when we were having a hard time getting away in the summer due to everyone's vacation schedule. I picked this weekend as it's in the middle of Winter and the weekend before SuperBowl. Theoretically there is nothing major going on.

The "We" in this aren't all MacCormick's but they are all like brothers to me.

Anyway, we went for a change of venue this year and wound up at my cousin Derrick's Inlaws bungalow (sounds like a movie title). Ice fishing is pretty simple sport. Cut a hole in the ice put something on a hook and wait. Slight problem this year is the lack of ice. None. Nadda.

That left us with nothing else to do but eat, drink and be merry. Fortunately those are three areas we do well with.

Ten souls made it for Friday night and only six remained for Satruday night. Plugged in all weekend to the mighty W-Eskasoni native radio station where you can hear anything in any order. Great DJ's and ads too.

Many laughs, foul smells and strange bedfellows make for a FANTASTIC weekend.

Only 51 weeks till next year...
